Roderick Interview - Day Two
DG: ::Yawning:: Good morning, Roderick. Are you ready for more questions.
Roderick: I'm always ready ::smiles seductively::
DG: Ah...yeah. So...first question of the day. Tell me about your immortality. You're immortal, but you can still die?
Roderick: Aye, you've the right of it. Thalians are immortal. We age when something tramatic happens in our lives. The stress of my brother's death aged my father considerable. His hair turned white and his face looked like that of an old man, wrinkled and haggard.
DG: If you're immortal, then how can you die?
Roderick: There are laser guns from another realm, one I will not speak of. It is the only thing other than a Thalian wishing for death that can kill us.
DG: So, if a Thalian wishes for death, they'll die?
Roderick: Wishing most likely wasn't a good word to use. Let me give you a better example. My father's brother and his wife were bound to each other for thousands of years. When one of her sons was killed by the lasers, she couldn't get over the pain of losing a son. Instead of turning to her husband, she eventually died. My uncle, unable to live without her soon followed.
DG: How awful.
Roderick: 'Tis life.
DG: Tell me, what did/do you think of visiting the future?
Roderick: ::snorts:: I've seen and done many things during my time with the Shields, but going that far into the future isn't something I would have volunteered for.
DG: Here's a great one I got from an interested reader. What did you hate the most?
Roderick: The heat. It was oppressive. And the rudeness of the people in general.
DG: Now, not all of us are rude. Don't generalize, dear prince.
Roderick: ::grins wickedly:: I would never.
DG: OK. HOw about tell us something that you found you liked?
Roderick: Indoor plumbing. Thales has it, but it took a while for your realm to catch up with the others. It was refreshing to be in a time period that had indoor plumbing.
DG: ::laughs:: Yes, I think indoor plumbing is most definitely a plus. Anything else?
Roderick: It took me a bit, but I've found that I quite like your motorbikes. They're fast and easy to manuever.
DG: That's it for today, Roderick. You will be back tomorrow, right?
Roderick: Anything for you. By the way, Val sends his regards.
DG: ::fans herself:: umm...tell him...thanks.
Roderick: I most certainly will. ::rises and flashes another debonair smile:: Until tomorrow.
I hope you enjoyed today's interview. As always, if you have a particular question you would like for me to ask Roderick, just email them to me. :)
