Roderick Interview - Day Three

Thank you all for the wonderful comments from yesterday's interview. Roderick sure is a charmer. I guess it comes from being a prince. :)

Now, on to today's interview...

DG: Roderick! Nice to see you again.

Roderick: ::winks:: always nice to see you.

DG: We have a few more questions today. It seems that our interview yesterday sparked several emails from readers who wanted you to answer a more questions. So, I'll put mine aside and ask theirs.

Roderick: I'm always eager to please.

DG: ::nibbles lower lip:: Your weapon of choice is a flail. Why do you favor it?

Roderick: ::shrugs muscled shoulders:: When I joined the Shields, we trained with the Fae for a time. During that time, we were given opportunites to try any weapon we desired. The flail appealed to me, and once I picked it up and began to use it, I knew it was the weapon for me.

DG: It does suit you. :: smiles::

Roderick: Thank you. We were also lucky enough to have the Fae craft our weapons for us, and they were made specifically crafted for each individual Shield. There is magic in our weapons.

DG: Lucky you. I sure would love to have a Fae weapon.

Roderick: It just so happens I have something with me today. ::reaches beside him and pulls out a small wrapped package::

DG: ::takes package, eyes wide:: What is it?

Roderick: Open it and see.

DG: ::sets aside questions and unwraps gift:: Oh. My. Gosh. Its a dagger, a beautiful Fae dagger.

Roderick: We thought you might enjoy it. It should look nice hanging next to the swords you have.

DG: ::wipes eyes:: Thank you.

Roderick: Its well deserved, my lady.

DG: ::sniffs and sets aside dagger:: Back to the questions. How does it feel to time travel?

Roderick: We've done it so many times now that it doesn't bother me anymore. However, the first time I went through, had I not closed my eyes, the light would have blinded me. The sheer noise of it leaves my ears ringing for hours. Its not for the faint of heart. You feel as though you're falling through nothing and just when you think you will fall forever, suddenly you're at your destination. What seems like forever takes only seconds.

DG: As much as I'd like to go to Medieval Scotland and see everything, I have to admit I'm a little fearful of the whole time travel thing.

Roderick: ::grins knowningly:: I'm sure Val would be more than happy to aid you if you need it.

DG: uh, huh. Let's get back to the question. How do you know you'll get to your correct destination?

Roderick: You have to be sure you know where you're going. Aimery does it for us most of the time, yet there are instances where we have to time travel ourselves to stay alive. Just repeat where you're going over and over again. If you're going back to a specific date, you'll need to add that in as well.

DG: Amazing. I see you're getting antsy. So, I guess that will be all today. See you tomorrow.

Roderick: Of course, my lady. Tomorrow it is. Until then.

That's it for today. Wonderful questions, thanks. Keep them coming. :) I'm going to go play with my new dagger.

Hmmm. I think Gabriel might do nicely for you. :)

Hmm...think you could persuade him to do an interview so I can learn more about him. He sounds yummy and caring based on his description on your site.

Oh, and cute cat.

Donna, don't cut yourself on that new dagger. I wouldn't mind doing some time travel with Roderick either.

Gabriel is...different. But, I bet I could persuade him to drop by. I'll see what I can do, Jennifer. :)

Oh, that's Sheba. I saved her from the pound where they were going to put her down the very next day. She's the best cat I've ever had.
