July! What happened to June?

As I sit here at my desk after a wonderful Fourth of July weekend with lots of shopping, grilling and swimming, I realized that July has come must faster than I had expected.

July is going to be a busy month. Not only do I have to get ready for nationals in Reno, but I have to get ready for my daughter to start first grade. We took care of the essentials this weekend. The backpack, lunchbox and coin purse she had to have from Gap Kids. Fortunately for me they were on sale. (yeah!) Then it was off to get the sneakers she couldn't live without. Bratz of course. When we got there we had a dilemma since they had two different shoes that they hadn't had before. She picked the cutest pair, of course. I haven't been teaching her about style for nothing. :) They're black and pink and adorable. And on sale. Another plus. We racked up there. Now, I'll have to start looking for her uniforms and school supplies. I'm a freak. I love getting school supplies. Even before I had kids I would go do the school supply aisle.

But now that the essentials for my daughter are taken care of, my mind turns to Reno and all that I have to do for the PRO retreat. OMG! Its way more than I did last year. How in the world did I get talked into this? :S I'm not the kind of person that likes to get in front of people and talk. I could dance in front of millions of people and not blink twice (took ballet/jazz for nearly 15 years), but talk? Um...no thanks.

Yet, I will be talking more this year. Last year I nearly passed out. I was so nervous that I not only got a stress headache (the kind at the base of your neck where it feels as though your head is about to come off) but also a migraine. I pray that this year the muscle relaxers my wonderful doctor gave me for flying just might help in this case. :D

lol. Yep. I'm a weird one with the school supplies. :)

I'm not a very good flier, so I do hope the relaxers work.

Donna, do you happen to know if you can come into the retreat late? I'm going to the Swords & Swordsmen session which also starts at 8 am but I'd like to make it to some of the Retreat if possible.

Thud. Thud. Thud.

That was my head hitting my desk. The PRO retreat is the same time as the sword workshop? I'm going to cry now. I was DYING to go to that workshop. Ugh!!!!

Kelly, yes, of course you can come in late. I'm sure people will be going in and out the entire time. So, please don't hesitate to come in, and be sure to say 'hi' to me sometime after the retreat. :)
