Good News
Well, we're in Galveston now. The same brother that opened his house to us in Houston didn't have anyone renting his beach house, so I brought the family here for a small vacation.
The kids really needed it, as did my husband and I.
Now, for the good news. I'm not sure what made me go ahead and send in a query for the first in my Druid trilogy to New Concepts Publishing, but I did. It was last Sunday and I was sitting by my husband as we watched the Dallas Cowboys. I didn't question the "feeling" I got to send it in, I just did it.
Since it was a Sunday, I knew I wouldn't hear from them that day, so I wasn't expecting anything for a week or so. A few hours later, we left Austin and drove into Houston. Once we got settled in Houston, I pulled out my computer and checked my messages.
Can you believe that the editor responded that day, only a few hours after I had sent the query. She apparently liked my query because she asked for the complete mss.
And it should be sometime next week I hear from my agent regarding the decision by Kensington on whether they want my medieval or not.
Hearing the good news was really what I needed to hear. I just hope the editor reads my mss as fast as she read my query. ;D
